ABOUT THE COURSE

HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a workplace or community setting.

Delivery: Blended delivery 

Course Duration: Before attending for face-to-face students will need to complete their e-Learning

2 Hours Delivery: Face-to-face training and assessment

Participants: Minimum of 10 persons

Cost: $45pp 

Overview

This course provides the skills and knowledge to be able to handle cardiac emergency situations.

It includes learning about:

  • Introduction to first aid principles

  • Assessing a cardiac emergency situation

  • Airway and breathing management

  • Performing chest compressions

  • Administering rescue breaths

  • Infection control procedures

  • Resuscitation techniques

  • Using a defibrillator (AED)

  • AED maintenance

  1. HLTAID00/01 Respond to an emergency situation

  2. HLTAID009/02 Perform CPR procedures

  3. HLTAID009/03 Communicate details of the incident

  4. HLTAID009 /04 Review the incident
