MEET ILANA LAWRENCE
EXPERT IN PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID & CHILDHOOD ILLNESS MANAGEMENT
As a dedicated wife, mother of two young girls, and passionate advocate for paediatric care, Ilana Lawrence brings both clinical expertise and personal understanding to The Sick Sense. Growing up in Lake Macquarie, Ilana pursued a Bachelor of Nursing before launching her career at Westmead Children’s Emergency Department in Sydney, where she honed her skills for just shy of a decade. Upong returning to Lake Macquarie, she advanced through specialist paediatric roles within Hunter New England Health, including position as a Paediatric Nurse Consultant.

Ilana's firsthand experience as both a mother and paediatric nurse gives her a unique insight into the anxieties and challenges parents face when their child are sick and/or injured. Through the Sick Sense, she is committed to empowering parents, grandparents and carers with the skills, knowledge and confidence to manage childhood illnesses and emergencies. Our baby and child first aid workshops in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast will have you leaving with your own Sick Sense.

Through our workshops, you will gain a deeper understanding of how to make informed decisions, communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and navigate the complexities of paediatric care.
